Sargent & Lundy Announces 2023 Executive Appointments

Congratulations to our newest business group directors, senior vice presidents, and vice presidents


January 27, 2023 – Sargent & Lundy is pleased to announce its 2023 executive appointments.

Business Group Directors

Thomas Foley - Sargent & LundyThomas Foley is the senior vice president and director of Sargent & Lundy’s electrical grid infrastructure services. He joined the firm in 2016 and is based at its Wilmington, Delaware, office. Foley is responsible for the overall management of the firm’s efforts related to power transmission and distribution, substation design, battery energy storage, electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable interconnects, and grid modernization. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Foley has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University.

Daniel Weinacht - Sargent & LundyDaniel Weinacht is responsible for the firm’s government services, which includes engineering and environmental management as well as national security operations services. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2019 and is based at the firm’s Richland, Washington, office. Weinacht oversees advanced technology solutions to the firm’s clients from public sector energy, defense, and environmental markets. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 14 states and is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Weinacht has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology as well as Master of Science and doctorate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Senior Vice Presidents

Kevin Huberty - Sargent & LundyKevin Huberty is a project director for Sargent & Lundy’s nuclear power projects. He joined the firm in 2002 and is based at its Chicago headquarters. Huberty works with multiple clients on new nuclear generation projects, including  small modular reactor (SMR) projects in the U.S. and Europe. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in three states and a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois. Huberty holds a Project Management Professional certification and has co-authored technical papers on the seismic design of structures. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

Brian Kelley - Sargent & LundyBrian Kelley is a project director for the firm’s electric grid infrastructure projects. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2004 and is based at the firm’s Chicago headquarters. Kelley manages substation, transmission, battery energy storage system (BESS) engineering services, and interconnection work for several clients. He has more than 18 years of experience in the engineering and design of substation, transmission, and renewable energy projects. Kelley is also a licensed Professional Engineer in two states and the author of an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) paper on physical security. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Vice Presidents

Jeremy Johnson - Sargent & LundyJeremy Johnson is a senior program manager for Sargent & Lundy’s electric grid infrastructure projects. He joined the firm in 2017 and is based at its Elkridge, Maryland, office. Johnson leverages over 17 years of experience working in the electric power and transmission distribution industry as both an engineer and manager. He has managed capital projects from inception through design, construction, and commissioning. Johnson is a licensed Professional Engineer in Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Additionally, he is a certified Project Management Professional. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware as well as a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington University.

Todd Thacker - Sargent & LundyTodd Thacker is the director of procurement and commercial management for the firm’s financial division. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2005 and is based at the firm’s Chicago headquarters. Thacker is responsible for all client contract and procurement activities as well as the firm’s corporate insurance program and international travel risk assessments. He has experience in negotiating, finalizing, and administrating contracts for professional services, construction services, engineered equipment, material, and software, as well as engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contracts and non-disclosure agreements. Thacker earned a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from Benedictine University.

Meghan Wilhelm - Sargent & LundyMeghan Wilhelm leads Sargent & Lundy’s human resources division. She joined the firm in 2005 and is based at its Chicago headquarters. Wilhelm oversees all HR functions at the firm, including talent management, benefits, compensation, and compliance with equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and privacy laws. She also manages the firm’s employee concerns program. Wilhelm played a pivotal role in Sargent & Lundy’s acquisitions as well as employee audits, claims, and international human resource management. She holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and is a Society for Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Wilhelm earned a Bachelor of Science in public affairs management from Indiana University.
