As the Hashemian Award encompasses projects over many years, key people from four different utilities contributed nomination letters on Golub’s behalf. One of these individuals, a nuclear utility senior manager, has worked with her on several key industry initiatives. His nomination cited that Golub “…has made extraordinary contributions to the broader digital modernization initiatives including support of multiple utilities, EPRI and NEI. The value she brings to the table is of inestimable value to the industry.”

As an example of Golub’s thought leadership, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) tasked Golub with leading the industry team to work with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to revise the NRC licensing process for digital protection systems. The ANS cited Golub’s leadership instrumental in “revising the NRC licensing process… and increasing utility confidence and clarity in the implementation of digital protection system upgrades.” Since this project’s completion, Golub hopes to see more nuclear sites embracing digital modernization along with the resultant O&M cost-savings.

In an increasingly digital world, Sargent & Lundy is proud to be at the forefront of nuclear advancement. Experts like Golub have expanded the firm’s technical and strategic offerings. Through this year’s Hashemian Award, the ANS has affirmed Sargent & Lundy’s ability to deliver modern, innovative, and complex consulting solutions.
