November 30, 2021 – Sargent & Lundy is hosting a booth and presenting at the CLEANPOWER 2021 conference. This renewable energy industry conference is taking place December 7-8 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.
Attendees are invited to visit booth #2001 on the exhibit floor to meet with energy consultants and electric grid infrastructure specialists from Sargent & Lundy’s team and learn more about the technical insights, expertise, and thought leadership we offer in renewable energy, energy storage, and decarbonization. We look forward to discussing our innovative approaches to supporting the changing energy landscape.
In an on-demand online format available throughout the conference, participants can access a presentation from Sargent & Lundy’s Adam Loeding: “BESS Independent Engineering: Key Considerations for Tax Equity Due Diligence.” Loeding discusses established and accepted methodology for independent engineering due diligence review of battery energy storage systems (BESSs) for the purpose of understanding risks and mitigation options for potential investment opportunities. The presentation provides an overview of the diligence methodology, highlights the importance of an integrated full-scope approach, and focuses on three key diligence topics:
- BESS use case identification and modeling
- Battery module warranty terms
- Fire protection design
Sargent & Lundy has employed its independent engineering due diligence methodology on behalf of investors in some of the first large scale tax-equity financings of BESS projects in the U.S. and is one of the few tax-equity accepted independent engineers for BESS projects.
This year’s conference comes at a pivotal time as the future of power production and consumption is being innovated to reduce environmental impact while ensuring reliability and sustainability. Sargent & Lundy is a leader in the energy industry in helping clients plan for a decarbonized future. We have the knowledge and experience to successfully execute and integrate technologies and projects to support decarbonization goals.
