Sargent & Lundy Presents Donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico

Contribution demonstrates commitment to Puerto Rican communities

March 7, 2023 – Sargent & Lundy has donated $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico as part of its commitment to make a meaningful impact in the communities where it has a presence.

The funds will go toward the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, which is to provide and promote school readiness, after-school programs and services, professional development, and post-secondary support among much more to children, youth, young adults, and their families. With a steadfast focus on Puerto Ricans of all ages, they will continue offering safe and creative places for local families to develop academic, personal, and professional skills.

“Contributions like this signify our dedication to Puerto Rican families, communities, and economy,” said Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Vic Suchodolski. “Sargent & Lundy established a local presence for a clear reason – to put our skills and our hearts into making the place where we all work and live better than ever. It is a privilege to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico in their ongoing work of empowering children and preparing young people and families to fulfill grand achievements.”

Sargent & Lundy has had a local presence in Puerto Rico since 2018 and opened its San Juan office in 2020 with 100% local personnel. The firm is currently pursuing plans to open an additional office in Mayaguez.

Sargent & Lundy is proud to support Puerto Rican communities through the revitalization of its electrical grid and create numerous job opportunities in the power engineering industry. Over the last two years, the San Juan office has grown to over 120 employees – all Puerto Rican and over one third of whom relocated with their families from the mainland back to their homeland – contributing vast engineering expertise and talent to various island projects and initiatives. Our local staff are especially proud to support causes that are near and dear to them, particularly those that help the advancement of Puerto Rican youth in STEM-related fields.

Since Sargent & Lundy was founded in 1891, our people have put their hearts into creating and nurturing deep and longstanding connections to our clients, employees, and communities. We stand behind our core value of making a meaningful impact within the communities where we work and live, and we are committed to serving, educating, and funding worthy causes.
