Sargent & Lundy Participating in Natural Gas Conversion Webinar at ASME Forum

Free virtual webinar focuses on natural gas conversion and combustion with plan managers and engineers

September 16, 2020 – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.1 Code Committee on Power Piping is hosting a free virtual forum on September 17 to share knowledge on new technologies and various technical topics occurring in the power industry to professionals in the utility, architectural and engineering sectors.Marc Lemmons of Sargent & Lundy

The forum will feature Marc Lemmons, a boiler specialist for Sargent & Lundy, who will present on the feasibility of converting coal boilers to natural gas-firing power plants in the live webinar at 1:50 p.m. CST.

Lemmons will share his experience with natural gas conversion and combustion, as well as discuss a natural gas conversion case study, project costs, and key lessons learned. His expertise will help plant managers and engineers better anticipate design, operational, and maintenance issues in thermal operations as they convert their own boilers. Representatives from manufacturers like Mitsubishi, General Electric, and Siemens will also be attending this virtual event.

ASME’s B31.1 Power Piping Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining the requirements for materials, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, testing, operation, and maintenance of power piping systems.

The forum is free and can be accessed at https://asme.zoom.us/j/92469048516 with the meeting ID 924 6904 8516 and passcode 477227.
