June 6, 2022 – Sargent & Lundy will be represented at a panel discussion at the 2022 Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America. Danielle Flagg and Kevin Lauzze will participate in the “Technology Development & Funding,” discussion on June 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. CDT. The expo is taking place June 14-15 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

In this emerging carbon capture technology market, technology and project readiness evaluations require consideration of several factors. As technologies progress toward larger-scale demonstrations and deployments, projects must consider aspects beyond technology advancement and design of the system for long-term success.

Flagg and Lauzze will be speaking with representatives from Victaulic and OGCI Climate Investments to discuss several topics, including:

• Stages of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology development.

• Challenges when advancing to higher technology readiness levels (TRLs) and readiness for deployment.
• Project funding and financing as critical components of project readiness.
• Other challenges facing the large-scale deployment of carbon capture.
