In this emerging carbon capture technology market, technology and project readiness evaluations require consideration of several factors. As technologies progress toward larger-scale demonstrations and deployments, projects must consider aspects beyond technology advancement and design of the system for long-term success.

Flagg and Lauzze will be speaking with representatives from Victaulic and OGCI Climate Investments to discuss several topics, including:

  • Stages of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology development.

  • Challenges when advancing to higher technology readiness levels (TRLs) and readiness for deployment.
  • Project funding and financing as critical components of project readiness.
  • Other challenges facing the large-scale deployment of carbon capture.

Sargent & Lundy’s specialized CCUS service offerings include feasibility studies, preliminary conceptual designs, front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies, plant integration planning, balance-of-plant (BOP) detailed designs, permitting support, and project and construction management. The firm’s knowledge and expertise with first-of-a-kind projects and presence at the forefront of new design have contributed to its leadership position in the CCUS value chain.

The Carbon Capture Technology Expo will take place alongside the Hydrogen Technology Conference & Expo, dedicated to discussing the role of carbon capture in decarbonizing heavy industry and how the combination of carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen will play a key role in the transition to creating a CO2-neutral energy supply. Professionals from the oil and gas sectors, renewable energy industry, government environmental and energy departments, and those leading deployment efforts of carbon capture, utilization, and storage solutions will attend this two-day event.
