Sargent & Lundy to Present on Power Plant Layup Methods and Reactivation at ASME Program

June 25 at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Florida

June 22, 2018 - Marc Lemmons of Sargent & Lundy will present on power plant layup practices at the ASME Resolving the Challenges of Power Plant Cycling Program. The presentation will highlight layup methods and answer your high level layup and reactivation questions. This will include preservation methods (dry vs. wet) both on the water and fire sides, operations and maintenance during the layup duration, permitting, and safety issues.

With increased renewable generating capacity, attractive natural gas prices, and today's increasingly stringent/uncertain regulatory environment, owners are considering lay up of their facilities due to cost and the uncertain of future of some power generation assets. Before laying up a facility, the duration must be defined to establish the unique guidelines for short- and long-term layup, dry and wet layup, and the major techniques that drive successful reactivation in the future.
