Sargent & Lundy Booth and Engineering Presentation at AWEA Windpower 2016 Conference

Sargent & Lundy’s Eric Soderlund to present

April 18, 2016 – At the AWEA Windpower Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans on May 23-26, 2016, Sargent & Lundy will host a booth and present on an important wind project engineering topic. This conference is the largest wind power conference in North America and is known for bringing together professionals from many segments of the wind power and utility industries.

We invite you to come talk with Sargent & Lundy wind power specialists on the exhibition floor at Booth 1101. Our experienced team will be at the exhibition to discuss the financial, regulatory, and environmental challenges—as well as engineering and other technical issues—that wind power projects need to address.

Sargent & Lundy’s Eric Soderlund will present “Support Your Wind Turbines: Choosing the Optimum Foundation System.” There are several types of foundation systems typically used to support wind turbines (e.g., shallow spread footing type, deep pier type, rock anchor type). Each system has advantages and disadvantages. For this reason, it’s essential that wind project owners and contractors select the optimum foundation in consideration of various attributes including cost, soil conditions, material availability, and performance history. This presentation will explain the different foundation system types, highlight their attributes, and explain the advantages and disadvantages of each.
