Webinar: Second License Renewal vs First License Renewal

This is the second webinar in our three-part series, “Second License Renewal - Delivering the Nuclear Promise from 60 to 80 Years”

June 20, 2018 - Renewal of operating licenses for nuclear power plants has been demonstrated to be a stable and successful process. With the first group submitted to NRC back in 1998, more than 50 license renewal applications (representing over 85 units) have now been approved. Sargent & Lundy has developed guidelines and work practices that incorporate these 20 years of license renewal experience along with the updated guidance for second license renewal recently developed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the nuclear power industry. This webinar series highlights this experience and reveals how Sargent & Lundy can put this know-how to work for your operating plant.

About the Webinar: “Second License Renewal vs First License Renewal”
This 35-minute webinar provides answers for decision-makers who are considering a second license renewal. It will appeal to Plant Managers, Engineering Directors, and license renewal Project Managers.

In this webinar we will consider the new challenges presented by second license renewal and how Sargent & Lundy can help our clients meet these challenges. We will also examine the documents and programs developed for first license renewal that may be useful for a second license renewal. Finally, we will review “lessons learned” from previous license renewal projects and discuss how we can use this knowledge to optimize a second license renewal project for our clients.

This is the second webinar in our three-part series, “Second License Renewal - Delivering the Nuclear Promise from 60 to 80 Years.” Listen to our first webinar, “Making the Decision for Second License Renewal,” here.
