May 11, 2023 – Sargent & Lundy donated $2,000 to Argonne National Lab’s Women in Science and Technology’s recent Science Careers in Search of Women conference.

WIST is a community of science and technology professionals that provide support, guidance, and professional development to women at Argonne National Lab. WIST hosts the annual SCSW conference, which strives to inspire young women to pursue careers in science by bringing them into the laboratory for a day of lectures, tours, career booth exhibits, and mentoring.

This year, nearly 200 female high school students had the opportunity to explore STEM professions and areas of interest through interaction with Argonne’s scientists and engineers.

Sargent & Lundy’s donation was coordinated by the firm’s Women’s Professional Network, an employee resource group whose mission is to create a diverse, inclusive workplace that offers resources and tools to support women in the workplace. The group’s efforts include sponsoring organizations and initiatives that foster an interest in science among young women.
