November 8, 2023 – Sargent & Lundy has once again been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Chicago Tribune. The firm’s Chicago headquarters won the award for the ninth consecutive year, ranking 11th on the list of the city’s workplaces with more than 1,000 local employees. The award is determined by anonymous employee feedback.

The annual “Top Workplaces” rankings are based on anonymous employee surveys that measure workplace culture, engagement, leadership, and whether employees feel fairly valued through pay, benefits, and work-life flexibility. The results are compiled and analyzed by Energage, LLC, a research and consulting firm that tracks employee engagement.
According to Energage, Sargent & Lundy scored highest in response to employee feedback on the direction of the company set by senior leadership; the “meaningfulness” in making an impact through their work; and how efficiently the company operates.
Sargent & Lundy offers various platforms, including the Top Workplaces employee engagement survey, to encourage employee feedback and suggestions. The firm continuously adjusts benefits and policies based on the input, for example recently expanding its paid parental and bereavement leave and introducing a flexible paid holiday to foster diversity and inclusion. The company invests in its people through generous tuition reimbursements and internal programs to enhance career coaching and advancement along with sponsoring healthy activities and maintaining a work-life balance.
About a third of the company’s total workforce of over 3,000 people is based in Chicago where Sargent & Lundy was founded more than 130 years ago. In addition to being on the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplace list since 2015, the company has also maintained a spot on the Top Workplaces USA list since it was established three years ago.
