Sargent & Lundy Announces 2024 Executive Appointments

Congratulations to our newest business group directors, executive team member, senior vice presidents, and vice presidents!


January 11, 2024 – Sargent & Lundy is pleased to announce the following executive appointments, which became effective January 1.

Business Group Directors

Chuck Beitel | Sargent & LundyChuck Beitel is a senior vice president and director of the firm’s energy and industrial division. He joined the firm in 1995 and is based at its Chicago headquarters. Beitel oversees management of the firm’s conventional power generation; waste-to-energy; air, water, and solid waste environmental management; carbon sequestration; upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas; and various multi-discipline industrial projects. As a project director, he performed engineering and project management oversight for natural gas combined cycle, hydrogen, and reciprocating internal combustion engine projects. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, and Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia.

Vince Heinz | Sargent & LundyVince Heinz is a senior vice president and director of the firm’s energy consulting and planning services. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2001, working from its Chicago headquarters. He manages global engagements for development planning, operations and maintenance for renewable and thermal power technologies, and transmission and distribution projects. Additionally, he is responsible for the firm’s continued support of the grid modernization and renewable energy transition in Puerto Rico and played a central role opening two offices on the island. Heinz is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico and has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Shiven Sulkar | Sargent & LundyShiven Sulkar is a senior vice president and director of Sargent & Lundy’s nuclear power services. He began working at Sargent & Lundy in 1991 and operates out of its Chicago headquarters. He is responsible for the overall management of the firm’s nuclear new generation projects and nuclear services. As a project director, Sulkar led the firm’s execution of both international and domestic nuclear new generation facilities, major plant upgrades, major plant restarts, and specialized facilities and support services. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Sulkar has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois.

Executive Team

Sandra Jannetty | Sargent & LundySandra Jannetty is a senior vice president and director for nuclear power projects who has more than 25 years of experience with the firm. She leads fuel fabrication facility design, environmental report development, siting feasibility studies, and multiple large-scale modifications. She is highly proficient in a range of technical areas, including project management, modification change package development, setpoint and scaling calculations, and digital systems analysis and modification. She holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Delaware. Jannetty is also a registered Professional Engineer in Delaware, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Senior Vice Presidents

Romulus Berzescu | Sargent & LundyRomulus Berzescu is a director for the firm’s electric grid infrastructure projects. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2002, working on assignments focused on construction, commissioning, and testing management for substation projects. He later transitioned to substation engineering and currently directs projects for multiple U.S. clients, where he has established himself as a skilled leader and strategic thinker. Berzescu holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, and Texas.

Kevin Lauzze | Sargent & LundyKevin Lauzze is a director for Sargent & Lundy’s energy and industrial projects and has been with the firm for 18 years. He began his career working primarily on air quality control system studies before transitioning to mechanical engineering, where he became a key lead engineer and was pivotal in positioning the firm as a leader in carbon capture. Lauzze is responsible for the firm’s carbon capture project and business development, as well as oversees traditional plant services for power and industrial clients. Lauzze holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in chemical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Michigan, and Wyoming.

Eric Monson | Sargent & LundyEric Monson is a director for Sargent & Lundy’s electric grid infrastructure projects. He joined the firm in 2007. Currently, he oversees program management and traditional engineering services for his electric utility and renewable clients, primarily in the Midwest and Ohio Valley. He has extensive experience in project management, substation engineering, protection and control schemes, transmission lines, high voltage equipment, medium voltage switchgear, and site supervision. Monson holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin.

Eric Soderlund | Sargent & LundyEric Soderlund is a director for the firm’s energy consulting and planning projects. He joined Sargent & Lundy in 2007. Soderlund oversees services for development, construction, financing, and operations for renewables, battery energy storage systems, and other emerging technologies, including clean fuels, carbon capture, and small modular reactors. He directs work for a variety of clients, from developers and constructors to utilities and financial institutions. Soderlund holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois Chicago, respectively, as well as a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.

Nick Vilione | Sargent & LundyNick Vilione is a director for Sargent & Lundy’s nuclear power projects. He has been with the firm since 2002. Vilione is experienced in large retrofit improvement projects for commercial nuclear power plants. He is currently focused on subsequent license renewal and digital plant modernization initiatives across the domestic nuclear fleet. Vilione is known for his project management skills, his ability to foster client relationships, and his extensive technical expertise. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Vice Presidents

Matt Braet | Sargent & LundyMatt Braet is a manager for the firm’s electric grid infrastructure projects. He has been with Sargent & Lundy since 2008. Braet currently manages substation projects for several major clients in addition to supporting wind farm system design and engineering projects. He is particularly skilled in building business relationships with renewable developers and utility clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.

Lauren Circolone | Sargent & LundyLauren Circolone is a manager for Sargent & Lundy’s energy and industrial projects. She joined the firm in 2004 and currently manages a reciprocating internal combustion engine project where six reciprocating engines and associated auxiliary systems are being installed, as well as a new, two-unit simple cycle project and a bottom ash retrofit for an existing coal plant. Circolone has performed engineering project management for numerous initiatives, including a simple cycle project, a conveyor replacement project, and environmental retrofits for coal plants. Circolone holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Oklahoma.

Curtis Cox | Sargent & LundyCurtis Cox is Sargent & Lundy’s director of engineering and innovation. In his role, he drives modernization and improvement opportunities across the organization. He has been with the firm since 2004 and has served in roles such as discipline manager for electrical and instrumentation and controls engineering for the firm’s energy and industrial projects. Additionally, he has served as project manager for various clients and projects. Cox holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Kansas, and Michigan.

Eric DeCristofaro | Sargent & LundyEric DeCristofaro is a senior project manager for Sargent & Lundy’s consulting and planning projects and joined the firm in 2009. In the last five years, DeCristofaro has managed over 200 renewable energy projects. His expertise covers a variety of services, including project development support, permitting, feasibility studies, owner’s engineering, technical due diligence, wind and solar resource assessments, independent engineering, construction monitoring, condition assessment, technology evaluation, contract reviews, and technical advisory. DeCristofaro has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from DePaul University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.

David Goode | Sargent & LundyDavid Goode is a senior manager for the firm’s nuclear power projects. He has been with Sargent & Lundy since 2006 and has served in increasing roles of responsibility within engineering design and project management. Goode's expertise spans technical skills, project management, client relations, and business development. He has a proven track record of building and leading successful project teams. Goode holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Miami University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Maryland.

Jason Jocham | Sargent & LundyJason Jocham is a director for the firm’s electric grid infrastructure projects, where he manages large transmission and transmission and substation projects for multiple clients. Jocham has been with the firm for 10 years, during which he has supported over 800 miles of greenfield transmission line design and construction up to 500-kV across multiple countries. He also supports clients through feasibility and cost estimation, routing studies, standards development, owners engineer, project management, and detailed design. Jocham earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Arizona State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona.

Adam Loeding | Sargent & LundyAdam Loeding is a director for the firm’s energy consulting and planning projects who joined Sargent & Lundy in 2008. Loeding manages teams that assist utilities and power project developers with the technical advisory necessary to advance and de-risk projects. He provides owner’s engineering; conceptual project design; and contracting, procurement, and technical advisory to utilities and power projects. Additionally, he played a key role expanding the firm’s offshore wind and battery energy storage system services. Loeding earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois. Additionally, Loeding is an FAA-certified private pilot and drone pilot.

DeAnna Myers | Sargent & LundyDeAnna Myers is the director of learning and organizational change for Sargent & Lundy’s training and development division. She joined the firm in 1997. Myers created Sargent & Lundy’s first learning and development group, and her leadership has been instrumental in its growth and development. Under her guidance, the learning and organizational change team plays a central role in supporting critical change initiatives at the firm, collaborating closely with all levels of leadership to align initiatives with the company’s overarching mission and objectives. Myers holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in learning and organizational change from Northwestern University.

Krunal Patel | Sargent & LundyKrunal Patel is a senior manager for Sargent & Lundy’s energy and industrial projects. He has been with the firm since 2006. He serves as project manager and lead civil structural engineer for multiple carbon capture projects and has conducted numerous front-end engineering and design studies related to carbon capture and storage. Patel’s prior work involved applying structural engineering knowledge to various large-scale environmental retrofits. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Wyoming, and Florida and a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.

Quinn Reynolds | Sargent & LundyQuinn Reynolds is the director of digital implementation for the firm’s nuclear power projects. He has been with Sargent & Lundy for 13 years and has played pivotal roles supporting projects related to instrumentation and controls, including completing an industry-first reactor controls instrumentation system upgrade at an active nuclear plant. In his role as director, he provides engineering technical oversight, strategic staffing, and business development. Reynolds holds a Bachelor of Science in general engineering from the University of Illinois, a Master of Science in engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois.

Mike Sronce | Sargent & LundyMike Sronce is a senior manager for Sargent & Lundy’s energy and industrial projects. He joined the firm in 2007 and has been based at the Abu Dhabi office since 2018. He has extensive experience with international energy projects and is a board member of the firm’s joint venture company, L&T- Sargent & Lundy Limited. Additionally, Sronce supports carbon capture, conventional energy, desalination, solar, wind, and battery energy storage system technology projects. Sronce holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University. He holds a Project Management Professional certification and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and New York.
