July 10, 2023 - Sargent & Lundy recently supported the American Electric Power Foundation by sponsoring the Simon Kenton Council Eagle Scouts’ annual recognition dinner in Columbus, Ohio. Hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, the event honored 277 members of the 2022 Simon Kenton Council Eagle Scout class. Sargent & Lundy’s donation enforces its commitment to making positive impact in the communities where it has a presence.

Employees from Sargent & Lundy, some of whom are former Eagle Scouts, attended the event and connected with representatives from other local and national businesses. They shared stories of how their experience as Eagle Scouts has shaped their lives, both personally and professionally, with the leadership and community-building skills they learned from participating in the organization.

Founded in 1910, BSA is one of the largest youth organizations in the U.S. It provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. The organization has helped develop many future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Simon Kenton Council is one of the largest councils in the U.S., serving 18 counties in central and southern Ohio and Greenup County in northern Kentucky.
