June 12, 2017 - Sargent & Lundy's Marc Lemmons will be presenting on an abstract "Gas Conversion Assessment for Multi-fuel Boiler" at the Association of Rural Electric Generating Cooperatives (AREGC) conference on June 18-21 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The abstract was co-authored by Sargent & Lundy Vice President Raj Gaikwad and Assistant Director of Electric at the City of Ames, Brian Trower.

The presentation, which takes place Monday, June 19, will discuss the evaluation options of complying with mercury and air toxics standard (MATS) regulations that can push a client to convert its units to natural gas while maintaining refuse derived fuel (RDF) and coal co-firing capabilities.

The presentation goes into further discussion on the feasibility, boiler configuration, thermal performance with natural gas, existing coal and environmental compliance, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code requirements, control equipment measures.
