October 27, 2023 – Sargent & Lundy is the platinum sponsor for the Energy 2023 conference taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Puerto Rico Convention Center on Nov. 2. The firm will host a booth and a networking event, and Senior Vice President Matt Thibodeau will give a presentation on microgrids and energy resiliency.
Hosted by Glenn International, Energy 2023 is one of the largest renewable energy events in the Caribbean and will be attended by leading clean energy authorities from across the nation and the region, including U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. The one-day event will present solutions for Puerto Rico’s transition to renewable energy and highlight several innovative technologies, including hydrogen, energy storage, hydropower, and energy efficiency.
We invite attendees to join us at booths 5 and 6, where Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Victor Suchodolski, along with our team of energy consultants and electric grid infrastructure specialists, look forward to discussing our extensive project experience in Puerto Rico. Our work supports near- and long-term planning initiatives to secure energy sustainability and reliability, including the integration of utility-scale renewable energy projects, generation resource adequacy evaluations, and evaluations of distributed energy resources and virtual power plants as part of the energy transformation.
Thibodeau will be presenting on the topic, “Microgrids: Creating Resilient Energy Networks,” at 4:45 p.m. AST. Highlights of his presentation will include:
- The benefits and challenges of microgrids, and how microgrid planning has evolved over time.
- An overview of business models and key drivers for microgrids.
- Strategies for planning microgrids within a larger electrical system.
After the presentation, Sargent & Lundy is sponsoring a wine and cheese networking event open to all participants at 5:30 p.m. AST.
